It is important that any written work you submit is professional, that it is clearly presented, and has clear and consistent formatting. This will show that you have worked with care and attention to detail. It will also make your work easier to read. Different institutions and publications will often provide you with detailed guidelines with respect to this. These will often contain the following basic instructions:

✵ Use a clear font such as Times New Roman.

✵ Use 1.5 or double spacing.

✵ Make titles and sub-titles clear.

✵ Make sure new paragraphs are clearly separated by leaving a line space, indenting, or both.

✵ Include page numbers.
