Another strategy is peering up with conscientious classmates. Peer pairing offers similar benefits to a study group, and finding a responsible peer may be easier than finding two or three. A peer pair may also be more convenient because you can work asynchronously by email.

Plan your peer partnership by explaining your purpose to one or two classmates: to provide mutual feedback on specific parts of your research project. If two people agree, organize a round-robin rotation. Organize your feedback, focusing on a number of specific aspects of the paper. Feedback can consist of one page comprising a half page for each of two prompts: “I like how you …” and “Have you also thought about …?” Agree on a deadline for returning feedback.

Coordinate feedback topics by following the sequence of completing the paper. Here are some topic examples: topic selection, argument development, source engagement, citations, title page, and reference list.
