Set 58 - It’s a foregone conclusion

Mike: It’s a foregone conclusion that I will win this auction. I will make the highest bid and take over the firm no matter the cost. Why don’t you enter into partnership with me? You won’t regret it; take my word for it.

Bill: Well! I’m not sure if I want to invest in your business or not, but I’ll give it some thought.

Mike: Don’t be reluctant! I assure you that if we join forces, we are bound to corner the market.

Bill; The point is I’m still not quite sure what I’m going to do.

Mike: Look! It’s common knowledge that I was able to see off all my competitors in a matter of months. I grasped the importance of being on top of the game by making overwhelming moves.

Bill: But opinions are divided as to whether you are complying with the tax regulations, and it is my firm conviction that stepping out of line will lead to serious ramifications.

Mike: Chicken!
