1. Past tense verbs: t/d/id
/d/ Example: smelled. Previous letter = voiced/vibration of vocal cords.
/t/ Example: walked. Previous letter = voiceless/no vibration of vocal cords.
/id/ Examples: visited/decided. Previous letter = /t/ or /d/.
