Keep a little in reserve
Step 5 – Draft
Many professional writers say they stop writing before they run out of ideas. They pause mid thought or mid scene, even though they know what they want to write next. They say this helps them resume writing when they return to their work. Hemingway said, “I had learned … never to empty the well of my writing; but always to stop when there was still something there in the deep part of the well, and let it refill at night from the springs that fed it.” This technique may benefit you when working on a long project.
