7 Steps to Better Writing - Charles Maxwell 2020
Step 6 – Revise
Before getting into the techniques of editing, here is a word about equipment. If you compose on a computer, you will want to edit there. It is so easy to delete, copy, paste, replace, and rearrange.
When writing on paper you also can make changes by crossing out and inserting words or adding circles and arrows. While this works well for light editing, major rewrites get messy.
Voice recognition, while good for rapid drafting, is unsuitable for revising. It is easier to move through a document and make changes using a keyboard or mouse.
