The payoff

And one last tip for squeezing the most out of the FAST System is to learn to type.

One day, I’m sure voice recognition technology and tools will replace the need to manually enter words into the machine. But I’ve tried everything that’s on the market today, and it’s all generally terrible.

Plus, as a writer, I really think there’s something to be said for manually typing each word. It’s tactile. It gets you in touch with your words.

And I believe the Talktation technique has exactly the right level of “connection” between you and your words. Typing each word into your screen manually allows you to see, and ponder, and consider every word you write.

Speaking is easier, sure. But it’s also easier to use throwaway words. Verbal communication has its own style and effectivenss.

Learning to type is easy.

You can learn the keyboard in a few short lessons. And in a few more — and with a bit of practice — you can be typing quickly in no time.

The faster you can type, the more easily you can transfer the thoughts from your head to the page.

Imagine if the instant a word became a thought in your head, you could have it on the page! You’ll never get quite that fast (don’t underestimate the speed of your mind), but you can get those fingers moving lightning quick.

Practice Talktation, and learn to type, and you’ve got one blazing-fast combo.
