Don’t Panic If You Realise You’ve Gone Wrong

If you realise you've forgotten something obvious, write a note about it at the bottom of the final page, to tell the examiner. You'll get marks for noticing your mistake.

Never cross out your whole essay if you realise it's wrong. Don't panic, just continue the essay, explaining to the examiner why it's wrong. If there's time, tell them what the real answer is.

Don't give up if you're running out of time: even with only five minutes left, there's still time to pick up extra marks.

Check your work, re-check it, then check it again

Examiners will be far more strict when marking coursework essays, because there's no excuse not to check them really carefully. Read them over and over again until there are no mistakes.
