How to write and publish a scientific paper - Barbara Gastel, Robert A. Day 2022

The review process (How to deal with editors)
Publishing the paper
Finally, you get the word. Suppose that the editor’s letter announces that your manuscript has been accepted for publication. When you receive such a letter, you have every right to treat yourself to a glass of champagne, a hot fudge sundae, or whatever you choose to indulge in when you have cause both to celebrate and to admire yourself. The reason that such a celebration is appropriate is the relative rarity of the event. In the good journals (in biology, at least), only a tiny percentage of the papers are accepted as submitted.
