Pause in progression
Set progression tracks for fluid reading
The reading toolkit

Progression is not a goal in itself. Sometimes the reader, despite the best efforts of the writer, gets lost because of insufficient knowledge or because too many distractions occurred while reading. To let the non-expert reader catch up, the writer needs to pause, in particular where the concepts take much concentration to understand, even for an expert! During that pause, the reader can consolidate the acquired knowledge with a writer’s supplied summary or illustration. To announce that pause, use words such as to summarize, briefly put, and for example to name a few.
