Abbreviations

An abbreviation of a military service follows a name; an abbreviation of a military title (also called grade or rank) precedes a name (eg, Col Cornelia McNamara, USAF, MC, not Col Cornelia McNamara, MD). These abbreviations should not be used in bylines.
