Use voice recognition software
Step 5 – Draft

Consider using voice recognition software. It works best if you speak sentences continuously without long pauses and without false starts. Prewriting—having a detailed outline or mind map—can help you rapidly recall your ideas and speak consistently and thus make voice recognition efficient. However, if your thoughts come slowly, then voice recognition probably will not work well for you and could prove distracting.

Although the software no longer needs hours and hours of training to recognize your voice, the technology still requires a quiet place and familiarity with the application.

Microsoft 365, Google Docs Voice, and Dragon speech, are the best voice recognition products available at this time.

For people who write a lot, voice recognition can pay big dividends in saved time.
