Contractions

7. won’t: will not
I won’t be able to go to Tina’s party.
8. you’re: you are
You’re the student of the month.
9. doesn’t: does not
If Franco doesn’t hurry, he will be late.
10. he’s: he is
He’s the fastest runner in the fifth grade.

Be careful not to confuse the following words:

✵ they’re (they are) with the possessive pronoun their and the adverb there
✵ it’s (it is) with the possessive pronoun its
✵ we’re (we are) with the verb were
