Skills and concepts tested
The reading section

There are 50 questions that comprise the reading section on the actual exam. Each passage, statement, graph, and so on, is followed by one to four questions based on its content. Using only the stated or implied information given in the passage, statement, or graph, answer the question or questions by choosing the best answer from among the five choices given. The passage appears in the form of an excerpt from a book, chapter, paragraph, article, report, index, chart, graph, or table consisting of:

· long passages (200 or more words)

· short passages (approximately 100 words)

· short statements (one or two sentences)

The reading section tests your ability to understand, interpret, and analyze passages as you respond to four different selections:

· reading comprehension passages

· reading comprehension passages with numbered sentences

· filling in blank items

· interpreting displays and graphs
